Skyscraping Splendor

What it is

An exquisite 413-room ultra-luxe retreat towering 65 floors over the Hong Kong skyline, with a holistic spa and sixth floor infinity pool that appears to blend into Victoria Harbour.

What it isn't

For acrophobics. In a skyscraper like this, they may want to book elsewhere—or risk losing their marbles on the

What we think

When a hotel’s nickname is “The Vertical Estate,” you know it’s going to be next-level amazing. And it is, literally. Take the 40th floor “Manor Club,” where guests can go for all manner of VIP coddling, any hour of the day (yes, there’s a pristine craft cocktail bar, shoe shines and 24-hour butler service). Or the plush interiors—designed by Tony Chi in what could easily be mistaken for Ralph Lauren goes to Hong Kong: blues and whites, with glossy blonde woods and mirrors at every turn that maximise space, plus deep soaking tubs in the marble-lined bathrooms. Ask for a view of Kowloon Peak and you’ll never want to leave.

You're here because

You’re an unabashed art geek, and the hotel’s museum-quality collection includes decidedly boldfaced names: Damien Hirst and Henry Moore among them. One particular jaw-dropper: Bharti Kher’s life-sized Indian elephant in a state of collapse.

The Moment

By now, several days into your stay, you’ve tried every one of the five on-site restaurants—and decided The Butterfly Room is your favorite, and not just because of the strict dress code. Tucked into a channel-tufted settee, you smile as waiters buzz around you proffering the delicacies of pastry and confectionery trolleys—feeling quite like a butterfly yourself.

Restaurants & Bars
