Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

Classical Legend

What it is

An iconic grande dame on the Chao Phraya River for more than a century, with 13 bars and restaurants (one Michelin starred), a spa and Thai boxing studio, and more.

What it isn't

Boring. Staff have put together a collection of unmissable Bangkok adventures, including biking circa 1862 Charoenkrung Road and morning alms giving ceremonies on the river.

What we think

Luxury knows no limits at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. Not one. Guest rooms are pampering and indulgent, even in the most “basic” room category—a 463 square foot Deluxe Premier Room, with floor to ceiling windows, Thai silks adorning the teak furnishings, rainforest showers, soaking tubs, and Japanese toilets. We particularly love the 1,043 square foot Junior Terrace Suite for its separate living and dining room, plus the private outdoor space. Whichever room you select, amenities are opulent: including Bose bluetooth speakers, fresh flowers, Nespresso machines, HD smart TVs, and 24-hour butler service, a Mandarin Oriental trademark here.

You're here because

You go so hard during the day that you prefer to dine-in at night, and the hotel has myriad restaurant and bar options on the premises—including the one Michelin starred Le Normandie by Alain Roux, overlooking the river.

The Moment

After your Muay Thai (boxing) class for beginners, you’re ready to chillax…and the spa awaits. Today’s treatments? A Thai Warrior Massage and Himalayan thermal salt ritual that make you feel brand new.
