COMO Parrot Cay

Serenity Now

What it is

A private-island resort that’s the ultimate in contemplative tranquility.

What it isn't

For the ADD-afflicted. Socializing is limited, and there’s not much to do besides relax.

What we think

When we win billions in the lottery—and we plan to—we’d still rather stay at Parrot Cay than buy our own private island. Why? The just-renovated, 1,000-acre resort, one of the 40 smaller cays of the Turks and Caicos, has perfected the beach-chic escape we’ve always dreamed of. The 75 rooms—plus houses, villas and private estates—are minimally done up with four-post beds, Balinese furniture and white, drapey fabrics. They’re also spaced far apart for utter seclusion—great if you’re here for romance or me time, less great if you mind long walks or golf cart rides to get from place to place. Wellness is a strong focus: The spa is one of the best in the world, yoga and Pilates classes are all included, there’s even an in-house Ayurvedic doctor to consult on stress reduction and diet. The food is excellent, and chefs won’t raise an eyebrow at your gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan, low-carb dietary requests. If you’re not eager to rebalance your chakra, there’s still plenty to recommend the place, particularly the beach a long, dazzling stretch of sugar-white, powder-soft sand. Snorkeling, paddle-boarding, kayaking and other activities beckon, and when you need a change of scenery, the infinity pool is magnificent.

You're here because

You want a Caribbean retreat that’s reflective, quiet and private enough for Christie Brinkley, Donna Karan, and the other celebs who own villas here).

The Moment

This morning, after a gratis Pilates course with the resident yogini, and local lobster for lunch, you’re feeling 22 again.
