Le Negresco
Seafront History
What it is
A 1913 grande dame with 128 glam rooms and suites; four beloved bars and restaurants (including a beach club); and interiors stocked with museum-worthy art.
What it isn't
Lacking in provenance. The Beatles, Princess Grace of Monaco, Salvator Dali, and so many other icons of history vacayed here—unforgettably.
What we think
If “Paris is Always a Good Idea,” as Audrey Hepburn reportedly said, we think staying at Le Negresco is a great one. What’s more memorable than a sojourn at a storied hotel that’s as cinematic as Versailles itself? Many of the guest rooms here are sumptuously adorned in Louis XIII style, including the Deluxe Sea View Suites—adorned in upholstery that’s an exact replica of those designed in the 18th century and dazzling views of the turquoise Mediterranean Sea. Want to blow your mind? Indulge in the Marie Leszczynska Suite for an aesthetic ode to Louis XV’s wife in an Instagrammy color palette of soft blues and terracotta pinks. And whichever room you select, expect luxuries galore—including a curated mini bar, feather soft robe and slippers, gratis coffee and tea, and so much more.
You're here because
Children are treated as bona fide celebs with amenities tailored just for them, including art workshops with lauded artists like Youssef Boubekeur, mini-me robes and slippers, and a concierge that knows all the wee delights in the region.
The Moment
The carved woodwork behind you at Le Chantecler restaurant dates to 1751…so it’s perhaps no surprise that your jaw hit the floor even before the cocktails arrived. But it was the Mediterranean lobster with local strawberries and lemon verbena that really impressed. Heaven, on a plate.
