Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa
Spa heaven at a luxury desert retreat
What it is
A lauded resort for mind and body health set on 400 acres at the base of Arizona’s Santa Catalina Mountains
What it isn't
A family destination—it’s an adults-only property.
What we think
Today, the word Miraval is synonymous with health and wellness. Whether you’ve heard about it from friends or from Oprah or Ellen, you likely know the basics about Miraval—its top-notch, all inclusive resort with a focus on serious R&R. All of the healthy meals, snacks, over 120 wellness activities as well as transportation to and from the airport are included in the rate. Activities range from the highly active—bodyweight training, cardio rotations—to the restorative, such as the beekeeping program or a Sonoran Desert walking tour. There are also cooking classes and dozens of experts you can consult on everything from your diet to your digital detox goals. Recently updated rooms have a renewed focus on restorative sleep thanks to soothing colors, blackout shades and spa-like music. Turndown amenities have also been swapped: Instead of a sugary treat—a snooze time oxymoron—guests receive emergenBees seed bombs to plant and grow bee-friendly flowers. Which is not to say that guests are deprived from sweets: Unlike other holistic resorts, where the focus is on deprivation, Miraval is all about choice. So along with three healthy meals a day at three restaurants—you’ll find dishes like prickly pear barbecue tenderloin and blue-corn crab cakes—guests can snack on chocolate chip cookies and sip lemonade.
You're here because
