What we think

At 220 rooms (including 66 suites), the Montage is no tucked-away mountain abode. Rather it’s a destination unto itself, especially for the winter sports enthusiast. Skiers and snowboarders can drop off their equipment for cleaning in the full-service Compass Sports center, a 7,000-square-foot space dedicated to—in the winter—all things ski, from helping guests book ski lessons to warming their boots before hitting the slopes. After a day of successful shredding, guests can rest tired muscles in the 29-treatment room spa—the largest in Utah—or take the family to Daly’s, a gastro pub with a four-lane bowling alley and vintage arcade games. While they start at a spacious 600 square feet, rooms feel cozy thanks to gas fireplaces, heated bathroom floors and private balconies or patios. Although winter is the resort’s busiest season, it is a year-round resort and an ideal home base for fly-fishing, golf and hiking.
