What we think

When the masterminds of this blissful retreat decided to call it Paradisus, they had it exactly right. This really is paradise. And that goes for every single room type, beginning with the Roulette Room, which is a ginormous 624 square feet and tricked out with a private terrace, rain shower and soaking tub, and an overlook of the lush grounds. Of course, if you’re not in Playa del Carmen often, we recommend upgrading to the Nikté suites; guests in Nikté experience a veritable hotel within a hotel and extra perks, including a water ritual at the spa, dinner at Sal Steak Cave, and the most doting concierges in town. Our preference: The Suite Nikté Swim Up, which is…yes…a room you can swim to from the pool, should you desire. (Bonus: it has an extra spacious 839 square foot floor plan and a whirlpool tub right on your private terrace.)
