Corinthia Rome
Corinthia has perfected the "Palazzo Renaissance." While most new Rome openings lean into sleek minimalism, this property leans into its "stronghold" heritage. The restoration by G.A. Design is meticulous; they’ve stripped away decades of corporate grey to reveal original mosaics and marble. The crowning jewel is the Theodoli Heritage Suite, where you literally sleep under an allegorical map of Italian currency history painted by Guglielmo Janni. It feels like staying in the private residence of a very well-connected Roman aristocrat who happens to have a Michelin-starred chef in the kitchen and a world-class spa in the basement.
A 60-room "grand boutique" masterpiece carved out of the former Bank of Italy headquarters. It is a 1914 neoclassical palazzo on Piazza del Parlamento that has traded its vaults of lira for a new currency: absolute, art-filled Roman luxury.
A sprawling, impersonal grand dame. With only 60 keys, it is remarkably intimate for a building of this stature. It also isn't a museum—despite the 1920s frescoes, the vibe is vibrantly contemporary.
You want the gravitas of the Spanish Steps area without the tourist throngs. You’re a design obsessive who wants to see how a bank vault becomes a Roman bath. You’re also here for the Carlo Cracco factor—his Roman debut is the city’s most coveted reservation.
Savoring an amaro at the Ocra Bar during the "golden hour," watching the amber Roman sun hit the courtyard's laurel trees, knowing the city’s political elite are just a few steps away at the Parliament, but you are in a total sanctuary of silence.
Viride: The signature greenhouse-style restaurant. Chef Carlo Cracco focuses on "green" Roman flavors—seasonal, garden-inspired, and incredibly refined. Piazzetta: The heart of the hotel. An all-day courtyard spot serving traditional Roman soul food (Carbonara, Cacio e Pepe) in a breezy, open-air setting. Ocra Bar: A moody, sunset-hued lounge for aperitivo culture and late-night clandestine conversations.
