Camiral Golf And Wellness
What is interesting here is the way the resort has been sharpened. It feels less like an old-school golf enclave and more like a contemporary destination that happens to have world-class courses attached. The recent rebrand from PGA Catalunya to Camiral, as part of the Quinta do Lago family, makes that ambition pretty clear. The rooms sound intentionally calm rather than decorative, and the newer Camiral Suites push that even further. Designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, they are 72 square metres, have direct access to the wellness centre, and were conceived with a holistic, almost residential ease in mind. That detail matters because it signals what the resort wants to be now: not just somewhere to play, but somewhere to reset. Food also seems stronger than you might expect from a place so identified with golf. Camiral Bistro takes an unfussy approach built around fresh fish, chargrilled meats, and Mediterranean vegetables; Origin Restaurant offers a more elevated dinner option at Hotel Camiral; and the resort rounds things out with the Lounge Bar, The Club Café, Camiral Bella’s, and a seasonal Pool Bar.
Camiral is a polished Mediterranean resort with a golf backbone and a wellness agenda, set among pines, fairways, and low-slung Catalan landscape just outside Girona. It is large enough to feel like a proper resort, but its best angle is not size.
Not a golf hotel where non-golfers are made to feel peripheral. Camiral may be deeply tied to the game, but the current identity is broader than that. The resort now leans just as hard into wellness, design, and gastronomy as it does into tee times.
You want a resort that feels sleek, not sugary. You like the idea of golf, but not at the expense of good design, strong food, and an actual spa culture. You want Costa Brava access without committing to a coast-hugging hotel. You are after a trip that can hold several moods at once: active, restorative, social, and very still.
Morning here probably tells you more than sunset. The air is cool, the light is clean, and the whole resort feels quietly in motion. Someone is heading to the course. Someone else is moving toward yoga or the wellness centre. Breakfast stretches a little longer than planned. Nothing feels rushed, but everything feels available.
