The Douglas

What We Think

When Autograph Collection enlisted Toronto-born, New York City-based designer and aesthetic mastermind Vincent Celano to whip up its interior spaces, they set a Canadian dreamland in motion. The design here is thoroughly of its place—from the glowing felled Douglas fir trunk turned into a megawatt front desk to the rooftop terrace, where mounds of flourishing plantings provide an earthy foil for the surrounding glass skyscrapers—and look vaguely reminiscent of Vancouver’s many lush islands dotting the gulf. Guest rooms nod to Pacific Northwest style, with plaid woolen blankets and custom headboards that look like burnished planks of wood flooring. Upgrade to a One Bedroom Suite for a more spacious floor plan; unlike the starter room category (at 340 square feet) this one is a whopping 1,200 square feet, with a separate living and dining space for the ultimate homey feel, plus wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the cityscape.

What It Is

Tucked inside mega resort Parq Vancouver, with 170 art-stocked rooms and a 4,000-square-foot rooftop garden.

What It Isn't

Lacking anything. Guests here have total access to the wider resort (including its on-site casino, 10,000-square-foot spa and eight award-winning restaurants).

You're Here Because

You love feeling like an insider, but don’t want to miss out on perks and amenities. The Douglas combines the best of both worlds.

The Moment

There’s a buzzing energy at Lotus Whiskey & Tea Lounge, thanks to its proximity to the hotel’s casino. But you’re feeling nothing less than serene, perched at your low-slung table under a glowing chandelier and sipping a Turndown Service cocktail: elderflower liqueur, tawny port, and Ardbeg whiskey.
