Alyeska Resort

What We Think

Alyeska Resort earns its reputation through its effortless connection to the landscape. Rooms and suites are generous, warm and anchored by large windows that turn sweeping views into an everyday backdrop. In winter, morning light roars off powdery slopes; in summer, emerald forests and distant glaciers frame your stay. Interiors are comfortable and functional without being bland — wood finishes, plush beds, fireplaces in many suites, and bathrooms that feel restorative after outdoor adventures. The resort’s public spaces are equally intentional. The Hotel Lobby Lounge feels like a mountain living room: low, warm lighting, Adirondack chairs, and an energy that’s social without being loud. Après-ski at Double Musky Inn — the resort’s signature restaurant and bar — has that rare combination of rustic charm and culinary skill: hearty local fare, excellent seafood, and a drink list that pairs well with long stories by the fire.

What It Is

Alyeska Resort is an all-season mountain retreat nestled at the gateway to Chugach State Park in Girdwood, Alaska, where snow-capped peaks and glacier-fed rivers meet forested valleys.

What It Isn't

This is not a minimalist urban design hotel transplanted into wilderness, nor is it a hyper-luxury lodge with stuffy formality.

You're Here Because

You want Alaska’s raw beauty without losing comfort. You appreciate nature that feels immediate and accessible, not distant. You enjoy spaces that feel built for living and breathing, whether that’s après-ski by a fire or a twilight walk under endless sky. You like hotels that open themselves to terrain rather than contain their own world within walls.

The Moment

It’s late afternoon. Snow or rain or sunshine — whichever the season brings — casts the mountains in dramatic light. You return from a day on the trails or slopes, boots off, cheeks warm, and step into the lobby’s glow. A drink in hand, you watch the light change over peaks outside large windows. The air has that crisp edge that makes laughter a little brighter and quiet moments richer.
