Awasi Iguazu
Jungle Gem
What it is
A 14-villa riverside retreat near Iguazú Falls with eye-popping excursions and Michelin-quality all inclusive dining.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Every villa has its own devoted guide (and 4WD) who can help you design the trip of your dreams, whether you want to visit the misty falls at dawn or search for capuchin monkeys and pumas in the surrounding rainforest.
What we think
If you were to envision your dream rainforest retreat, it might be exactly like this one: a place where each and every room option is a villa on stilts, lofted into the treetop canopy. The one bedroom options are a sweeping 1,076 square feet, with soaring ceilings, private plunge pools and textiles beautifully woven by the region’s Guarani people. Bringing the kids? Consider the two bedroom Master Villa, which is ginormous at 1614 square feet. Rates include private transfers, locavore meals, open bar, excursions, and so much more.
You're here because
The hotel is a member of the famously perfectionistic Relais & Châteaux. Translation: you’re practically guaranteed to have a seamless and unforgettable stay.
The Moment
After a morning of adventure along the misty Iguazú falls, you spent all afternoon watercoloring your latest crush: the blue manakin, a sweet, red-hatted and turquoise chested little bird that’s been visiting you daily, to your great delight.
