What We Think

When you envision the safari getaway of your dreams, this is it: a place where the wilderness stretches beyond the horizon, yet luxurious touches are everywhere. Take the 645 square foot guest rooms, each a rounded Namibian hut with soaring open beam thatch-roofed ceilings, private terraces and chockablock with locally curated antiques. (Before you ask: yes, they are equipped with modern must-haves such as en-suite bathrooms complete with soaking tubs, free wi-fi, Nespresso machines and air conditioning.) If you’re bringing the kids, or even your besties, we recommend upgrading to the two bedroom hut; it’s double the size and has two separate bedrooms larger groups will find handy. While you’re here, be sure to stop in at the spa for a locally-inspired moringa facial.

What It Is

Tucked within a 22,000-acre nature reserve with 10 cinematic thatch-roofed huts, a heated infinity pool with an adjacent bar, and an open air fireside restaurant.

What It Isn't

Your standard safari. Sure, you can take game drives at dawn and dusk, but there are also a plethora of other exploits to consider, including private elephant tracking and a lion-feeding session.

You're Here Because

You like that they have a focus on conservation, and that their Land Cruiser game drives seek out everything from elephants and cheetahs to more unexpected thrills, like springbok and impala ostriches.

The Moment

After watching a parade of elephants cool themselves in a nearby watering hole, your dip in the hotel’s infinity pool feels more than good—it feels primal. The fact that the poolside bar serves perfect cocktails is just a bonus.

Restaurants & Bars

Ambo Delights - Offering a culinary discovery of Namibia the cuisine is prepared from seasonal and, where possible, organic ingredients. Pool Side - Guests can take a meal in the restaurant that lies right next to the pool in keeping with the peaceful rhythm of the place.
