Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
Cabo’s most exclusive resort
What it is
An intimate hideaway with dazzling ocean views.
What it isn't
For ocean swimmers. Like most beaches in Los Cabos, this one has dangerous rip currents.
What we think
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal knows how to make an entrance: After being whisked through the airport, you’re chauffeured through a dramatic, chandelier-lit tunnel to the hotel’s entrance, where you’re greeted by name and handed a margarita. Just as theatrical: The cliff-side setting on a nearly private beach, with the mountains as a backdrop. The 113 rooms, suites and villas are all positioned to take advantage of the spectacular views, and each has a balcony with a private plunge pool and fire pit. Inside, the furnishings contribute to the strong sense of place, with hand-carved headboards, ceramic tiles, embroidered pillows and metallic light fixtures—all locally inspired and tastefully done. The pools (one for adults, the other for families) are stunning, which helps compensate for the fact that the beach isn’t swimmable. You can make an appointment with a Mexican folk healer at the spa, ask your concierge to organize a sport-fishing excursion or otherwise just hole up in your room. Someone will drop by once a day with chips, guacamole and Coronas to make sure you stay nourished.
You're here because
You want unparalleled luxury, guaranteed ocean views, and an aura of exclusivity.
Your candlelit table at El Farallon, the restaurant carved into the cliff, seems suspended over the water. Your waiter beckons: time to choose your entrée from the selection of freshly caught fish glistening on a bed of ice.
